Another Long Night…”

FADE IN:
EXT. CITY – NIGHT

Establishing shot

INT. /EXT. COURIER’S CAR – NIGHT

A COURIER shrouded in a black coat proceeds to his car as he carries a black suitcase handcuffed to his wrist. He places the suitcase in the back seat of his car and enters the driver seat, setting his hat aside. The COURIER prepares to start his car but looks away at the black suitcase, and contemplates on its dark contents; the COURIER turns backs to the front and starts the engine of his car.

EXT. BRISTOL/ALLEYWAY – EARLY MORNING

A cautious DETECTIVE walks down the alleyway, slightly limping as he approaches the CLIENT. The CLIENT looks to his right and turns back to the DETECTIVE.
CLIENT
Were you followed?

DETECTIVE
Can’t say I know for sure.
So… what do you need?

CLIENT gives DETECTIVE a photo of COURIER, turns around in caution briefly
CLIENT
An old friend of mine is missing.

The DETECTIVE takes the photo and analyses the image, looks to CLIENT and nods.
DETECTIVE
Where did you last see him?

CLIENT
My house, he was kicked out
Of his own place, over due rent.

DETECTIVE begins folding photo
DETECTIVE
How long has he been gone?

CLIENT
Three days.

DETECTIVE places photo in his suit pocket.

EXT. BRISTOL/ANOTHER ALLEYWAY – NIGHT

COURIER steps down the stairs

DETECTIVE
Any idea where he might be?

   CLIENT
No, he always leaves at
Night and comes back in
The middle of the day.

HITMAN quietly follows after the COURIER
CLIENT
(CONT’D)
And he always carries a black
Suitcase whenever he goes out.

DETECTIVE
Does he have a night job?

CLIENT
He hasn’t been employed for

COURIER stops and turns around briefly and proceeds to walk away
  CLIENT
 (CONT’D)
Years, but there are rumours
Going around that he’s been
In and out of places
Around the city.

HITMAN quickly tails after the COURIER with a gun concealed behind him
DETECTIVE
What kind of places?

CLIENT
Shops, factories, hotels,
You name it, but he always
Mentioned THE GOLDEN JACKAL

COURIER hears a gun cocking and notices the HITMAN and surrenders the suitcase, begging for his life.

DETECTIVE
The pub, been there once
Didn’t like their chips
Alright, if you have
Anything else, give me a call…

COURIER gazes at the gun aiming right at him

DETECTIVE
(CONT’D)
I’m on the case.

BANG.
